1930s Canberra Bungalow

Our clients’ Canberra home was a blend of popular 1930s home decor and architecture from California bungalows and the Spanish Revival, but it needed a new take on life in this century. They called us in to make their forever home more comfortable, stylish, and relevant.

Our goal was to redesign the home in authentic Hamptons style, the perfect bridge for the existing architecture and the classic luxury our clients wanted. We planned the space’s layout and specified all surfaces, paint, tapware, tiles, hardware, fixtures, lighting. We also supplied all furnishings, art, and accessories.

Furnishings budget: $2,000 per m2 (excluding design fees)

Construction budget: $100K-$200K

Traditional woodwork, lighting, and styling elevates this architectural gem’s character. For our palette, crisp white is paired with refreshing blues, warmed with neutrals, and grounded in dark woods. Handsome upholstery and textures complete the look of comfortable, liveable luxury.
