1960s Deakin revival

The motivation:

Our Deakin clients engaged our services to assist them to make over their cherished 1960s family home to enjoy it for a relaxing retirement. The major focus of this project was the renovation and decoration of the rumpus room to cater for a variety of uses including the adjacent pool area, business visitors, relaxing by the fireplace and large family gatherings with the now-grown-up children and grandchildren.

The fix:

Inspiration for the rumpus room was our client’s collection of Papua New Guinean artifacts. Problem solving included how to vent the fireplace in a two-storey home, hide the pipe, and deal with low concrete ceilings with fixed lighting outlets. We also needed to assist our clients through their decision whether or not to keep the billiard table.
