Modern Meets Timeless in Griffith – Furnished

The starting point:

Our clients have purchased a larger forever home for themselves to enjoy. The floor plan functioned well but surface updates and renovations were required. Our clients understood the value of renovating on the way in so they could enjoy their home and focus on their lives, rather than for someone else to enjoy on the way out.

The journey:

The scope of works was to be a whole home repaint inside and outside, with carpet replacement, and key lighting and electrical replacement.  Wet areas to be renovated included the two bathrooms and laundry.  New joinery was required in the study and family area. On the decorating front: new furniture in the front living rooms and replacement of window furnishings.

It was not possible to complete this size of project before moving in, but scheduling it for completion within the first year is the next best thing.

The brief was to update the home and blend the couples’ differing styles.  Timeless with a modern edge to be applied across the renovation designs and the softer decorating elements.

The investment:

Construction budget $400,000+

Service: Full Service Interior Design.

Interior Decorating budget < $200,000

Service: Full Service Interior Decoration

The destination:

The front living room is ready for fun and games with a grand piano, games table and the furniture is arranged for comfort and conversation. Burnt orange accents tie in our clients’ key existing pieces and favourite colours.  Our clients’ existing dining table is now ready for games and is lifted with a French polish and klismos style chairs in black that deliberately compliment the grand piano.  The new feature pendant light connects all three spaces. Whilst dressed to impress the custom sofas, armchairs and coffee table are also comfortable for lazy days at home with a book or conversation with good friends.

Boutique window furnishings vary throughout giving each room its own style and function.

Bathrooms are updated in a timeless way. Peacock feature wallpaper and roman blind in the main bathroom reflects the local peacocks and our clients preferred colours.  Gold mirrors and wallpaper are a luxurious and fun element in the powder room. The Ensuite is rich in colour and style with masculine hints.

Our clients have enjoyed their first Christmas in their new home in style and free of that never ending to-do list of items to fix around the house.
